Join the We Want It movement for better nutrition info in all BC restaurants

heart-and-stroke-foundationLast week, the Heart and Stroke Foundation in British Columbia launched We Want It.hsf.ca so people can tell local restaurants to list the calories, fat, sugar, sodium and other nutritional information for their menu items.

As of the moment I write this, 1291 people want to see this info in all restaurants, not just fast food outlets. It would be especially helpful for folks with medical conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure to make the best choices they can to manage their own health needs.

Join this movement and perhaps we’ll see mainstream restaurants becoming smarter and more creative with their food so that it is healthier and still tastes good.

To participate, identify your favourite restaurant on the website and add your first name to the We Want It list. Heart and Stroke Foundation will send the list to each restaurant identified. Include the reason you want it and you could win a gift card to a participating Health Check restaurant.

To respect privacy, the Heart and Stroke Foundation is not tracking people’s personal information.
