Get a taste of country at The Farm Shop at South Lake, Naivasha

Shop for quality items at the beautiful farm shop at Southlake, Naivasha, or hang out on the patio with a cup of chai and light snacks.
The patio overlooks Maria Sovich’s small farm, where she also runs her successful company, Kenyan Classic Preserves: hand made fresh fruit jams, jellies sweetened with apple, mustard, peanut butter and more.
Maria and her business partner, Wangeci Kamau, an entrepreneur and owner of the Picnic Kikapu, a gift concierge company, are passionate foodies and support Kenya’s best talents.
Consider Shuka Duka’s authentic masaai picnic blanket along with some luxury kitchen ware and international wines. Or charm your kids with Kenana Knitters toys.
Purchase daily fresh produce, flowers and organic local meats from the shop butchery. Selections include rabbit meat, aged beef, pork, chicken, fish and lamb. Cold cuts and natural cheeses are also available.
Most of the food products will be local, organic and free of artificial ingredients. The menu will soon expand from basic beverages and snacks to homemade pastries, sandwiches made on the spot, soups and more based on the season’s harvest.
I hope there will be a choice of roast beef sandwich on gluten free bread, with roasted veggies and topped with Maria’s special mustard and chutney.
